On the Crusade to talk about my artistic life.
What is my artistic muse? Well, for me it is everything child related! In my imagery there is often found a child peering, peeking, pondering, playing. Additionally, my artwork often includes the essence of childhood...board books, game pieces, flashcards, childlike imagination. As a former teacher, I find that my art is inspired by the little souls of wisdom that have crossed my path across the years. Full of peace, hope, introspection, creativity and imagination, these little people have inspired me in a way that big people don't (except for those that allow that little piece of childhood to remain in their lives as a twinkle in their eye, a spring in their step and a lilt in their voice that borders on a giggle of joy!...like my wonderful friend, Lena ~ may our dance choreography be enacted on art days!)
Ah, children, the muses of the essence of life! Take some time to watch a child, listen to one and feel a smile spread across not only your face, but your heart!
I will go home tonight, and find my inner child muse through my children, thanks for reminding me!

So well said...my children and the children I work with are all muses. I am most happy with myself when I connect with that sweet one deepest inside. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas. Be well...jodi barone

Heather - congrats on your blog! Glad to have you join in the Crusade! I love reading your passion for children and that it works it's way into your art. It is true isn't it, that we believe we can be anything and do anything when we are a child....and sometimes that verve gets crushed as we get older. Raising a glass (of wine or kool-aid) to those of us who never forget that child within!
